Terry Guen Design Associates is the Landscape Architect for Chicago’s acclaimed Millennium Park. Millennium Park is unique in that is constructed atop a parking garage. As an intensive green roof, the 24.5 acre park is an infrastructural feat. The park features the contributions of several highly regarded artists and designers, including SOM, Frank Gehry, Gustafson Guthrie Nichol, Anbish Kapoor, and Jaume Plensa. Part of the success of the Park is the diversity of programming. The park includes space for formal events, interactive public art, inspirational gardens, public amenities, and open space to provide as a respite from downtown.

"TGDA authored construction documents, conducted construction administration, and reviewed and laid out planting design. Through this work, we collaborated closely with Piet Oudolf to complete the planting design and installation of Lurie Garden, a three acre botanical display within the park.
"

Millennium Park has been heralded as a new urban form, a dynamic urban space for art and landscape, a culturally rich setting reflecting the contemporary urban lifestyle. Its success is estimated to have contributed over $6 billion of economic activity to Chicago over the past ten years. TGDA is proud to have contributed in creating an iconic Chicago destination and highly popular civic space.
