41st Street Pedestrian Bridge

May 4, 2018

41st Street and South Lake Shore Drive
Owner: Chicago Department of Transportation
Client: AECOM
Design Architect: Cordogan Clark

The new 41st street bridge connects the Lake Park Crescent community to Chicago’s Lakefront park system including Oakwood Street Beach and the Lakefront Trail in the North Kenwood-Oakland neighborhood. The signature, double-curved bridges, designed by Cordogan Clark & Associates, form large S-curves in response to the Olmstead paths typical of a leisure park. The bridge width span is wide enough to accommodate both pedestrians and bicyclists and is accessible for all users.
