The Design Center is a new facility on the University of Illinois campus developed to promote undergraduate design thinking and create opportunities for campus-wide collaboration and innovation. The architecture and landscape will support this effort through incorporating open flexible layout, state-of-the-art technologies, and a diversity of maker-spaces. As described by Provost Andreas Cangellaris, "The renovation is a historic new addition to the physical and the intellectual landscape of Illinois that will significantly change the world's ideas about what a university education will be in the 21st century."
