UIUC Illinois Street Residence Dining Hall Renovation and Addition

This dining hall renovation includes exterior space improvements including a new welcoming, lush and accessible main entrance, a bike grove and two new exterior courtyards. The building now embraces its surrounding context as both a destination and passageway. Within the building, students will discover exterior spaces that feature two outdoor courtyards for seasonal al fresco dining and quiet places for respite and study. These spaces are designed to embrace the mid-century quality of the existing building and landscape spaces. The courtyard gardens offer sunlit spaces, permeable paving, seasonal plantings and modern furniture.
